CleanJibe

Your WingFoil session, measured.

For testers

The beta

The test is one ordinary session. Ride as you always do. Open it on the phone. Read the turns: flew through, touchdown, fell in. The clean jibes are marked among them. Only you know which it really was.

Not installed yet? Get the apps on Get started. What changed in each build is under What’s new.

What to test

Five steps, after one ordinary session. The first one matters most.

Tell us what you saw

your verdicts against the engine’s
Menu → Support & ideas opens a mail to us, with your app and watch details already in it. Your mail decides what we build next. Show the 5 steps
  1. Read the verdicts against your memory

Open the session and go to Turns. Every turn says flew through, touchdown or fell in. The clean jibes are marked among them.

  2. Say where it disagrees with you

Maybe it marked a jibe you flew through as a touchdown. Maybe it missed a time you fell in, or found a wind you did not sail in.

  3. Send it from the app

Menu → Support & ideas fills in your build, phone, iOS version, watch and library size. You add what happened and press Send.

  4. Attach the file if a session read wrong

With the .fit we can run the detection again and fix it. Without it there is only guesswork. Ideas and wishes are as welcome as faults.

  5. Send a card, and say how it reads

The share button on the session page draws a share card with your track and your numbers. Send it to a friend. Say if anything on it reads wrong.

What a good report says

Keep it short. A screenshot of the session page beats a paragraph. “This number looks wrong” is a good report.

Which way in
Garmin, the CleanJibe Apple Watch app, Apple’s Workout app, any .fit, or Strava.
Your watch
Apple: model and watchOS version, under Settings → General → About. Garmin: model and software version, under Settings → System → About.
Did it arrive
Yes or no, and how long it took.
A screenshot
The session page. Was the track drawn? Were parts of it teal?
Anything odd
A permission you were never asked for. A “Nothing to import” screen. A NO GPS that never cleared. A crash. Wording you did not understand.

Where to send it

Three doors, all to the same person. What goes in the message is the checklist above.

Three doors, cheapest first

  • Menu → Support & ideas, top left on the Sessions tab. It fills in your build, your phone, the paired watch and how big your library is. You add what happened and press Send.
  • A GitHub issue for anything bigger. It stays readable by the next rider with the same question.
  • info@cleanjibe.org, which opens with the template already in the body. Attach the .fit if a session read wrong. With the file we can run the detection again and fix it. Without it there is only guesswork.

Both stores have a report button of their own. In TestFlight, Send Beta Feedback arrives with the build and the device attached. On the Connect IQ listing, Contact Developer does the same.

Coming in a future release

The App Store release, when it comes, will be the steady half. The beta is ahead of it. A third build, dev, is ahead of the beta and is not public.

In the beta today

The TestFlight link hands over all of it this afternoon. Nothing here is a promise. This is what installs:

  • .gpx and .tcx files, so a session exported from a Polar, a Suunto or a COROS opens straight from Files.
  • Apple Health, both ways: what Apple's Workout app recorded is read in, and your sessions are written back as workouts.
  • The CleanJibe Apple Watch app, which records on your wrist and hands the session to the phone.
  • Home-screen widgets and the watch complication.
  • The session video: your afternoon as a film rather than a card.
  • Grouping the library by month, year or spot, and filtering it.
  • The session story: one line over your numbers, and a chip on each record you beat.
  • Send a session and its recording to us from its Share page or a turn, with your notes.
  • Jumps: how many you jumped, and an estimate of the highest, from the watch's motion sensor.
  • Planned: a live view on the Apple Watch. Foil state, flights, records and turn verdicts on the wrist, as the Garmin app shows them.

The Garmin export ZIP is in every build, beta or not. It brings your whole history in one import.

Ideas on the bench

Beyond the beta: what we could build next. If one would matter to you, say so.

  • The Garmin link: a summary card from your watch the moment you stop. Your spot's map and the wind direction go back to it.
  • Windsurf, foil and fin, with thresholds of its own
  • The tuning page: every analysis threshold on a slider, tried against your own sessions
  • iPad
  • Your idea here.

Tell us what you would want. The ones asked for most move first.
