What’s new

The release notes

Newest first. The iPhone app ships as TestFlight builds. The watch app ships as Connect IQ versions. The two number differently and land on different days.

TestFlight offers the newest build by itself. Garmin Connect updates the watch app. A report is worth more with a build number in it. You find yours at the foot of the app’s menu, and under Settings → About.

iPhone · build 133 beta

15 October 2026 · 1.0.1

Jumps.

  • The Flights tab counts your jumps and estimates the highest, from the watch’s motion sensor.
  • A jump counts only on the foil, at speed and outside a turn.
  • Your sessions are worked out again, so jumps appear on the ones you already have.

iPhone · build 131 beta

14 October 2026 · 1.0.1

Said plainly.

  • Help marks the answers that are about the iPhone app.
  • Help says when your jibes and tacks appear on the watch, and when a touchdown is a fall.
  • Every estimated number now says estimated.
  • The feedback mail counts jibes and tacks apart, and no longer reports a takeoff gap that is not one.

iPhone · build 129 beta

1 October 2026 · 1.0.1

The watch file wins.

  • A Strava copy no longer invents a tack out of a GPS jump while you are in the water.
  • A turn that ends your session in the water counts as a fall.
  • Your watch’s recording from intervals.icu replaces a Strava copy, in the background too.
  • The session list scrolls smoothly from the first swipe.
Earlier builds: iPhone 127 back to 41, watch app 0.9.19, 0.9.18, 0.9.17, 0.9.10, 0.9.9

iPhone · build 127 beta

30 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Scrolls both ways.

  • The session page scrolls back up smoothly, however long the turn list is.
  • On Turns and Flights, the filters stay at the top while you scroll.

iPhone · build 125 beta

30 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Built with its riders.

  • The Beta page asks how the new features work for you, and what we should test next.
  • A small Beta mark sits on every feature that is still being tried.
  • The feedback mail has your wishlist and a line for your own idea.
  • Scrolling back up works again when your thumb starts on a filter row.

iPhone · build 123 beta

30 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Every name in full.

  • The map tells you once or twice to use two fingers.
  • Every record name reads in full on the Records tab, even on the widest iPhone.
  • The session’s numbers read with commas, not dashes.

iPhone · build 121 beta

30 September 2026 · 1.0.1

One finger scrolls.

  • One finger on a map now scrolls the page. Two fingers move and zoom the map.
  • A filter with no turns says so in one sentence, and the map says what its marks are.
  • A speed record you did not set tells you why, instead of showing a dash.
  • A ski or snowboard day tells you why it is not a session.

iPhone · build 119 beta

30 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Tacks you really made.

  • A fall only counts as a tack when you got close to the wind first.
  • A fall right after a jibe belongs to that jibe, not to a second turn.
  • Scrolling up on a turn’s page no longer gets stuck.
  • Grey text reads more clearly in sunlight, and the help mark on a tile is quieter.
  • Ski, snowboard and skate days no longer turn up as sessions.
  • From Strava, a run, a ride or a hike comes in only when its name says wing or foil.

iPhone · build 117 beta

28 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Share your season.

  • Share a whole season from Trends, with the new button at the top.
  • Season and trip cards take a photo or the map behind them, like a session card.
  • Pick the tracks: all sessions at once, your best session big, or a collage of your best twelve.
  • A run, a ride or a hike no longer turns up as a wingfoil session.
  • The home page at cleanjibe.org is new, and the browser app now uses the same words as the phone.

iPhone · build 115 beta

27 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Your afternoon, told.

  • Every session tells its story in one line, and a record shows right where you set it.
  • The turn page leads with the verdict, and a miss comes with one plain tip.
  • Not how you remember a turn? Tell us from the turn page itself.
  • Clean means the same everywhere: flew through, held your speed, then 10 quiet seconds on the foil.
  • Speed records say measured or estimated, and the card never prints your falls.
  • Trends tells you how the season is going, with a line on every chart.
  • Getting started brings in the sessions you already have, from any Garmin profile.
  • Trips and seasons get a tack bar beside the jibes.

iPhone · build 113 beta

26 September 2026 · 1.0.1

A new card to share.

  • The share card is new: your clean jibes big, your jibes and tacks as coloured bars.
  • Pick the big number on the card yourself: clean jibes, top speed or tacks.
  • Trips, months and seasons get the same new card.
  • Your watch’s own recording now replaces a Strava copy of the same afternoon, and keeps your edits.
  • A session no longer lands twice when the watch recorded a while without GPS.
  • Help has seven sections in the order you need them, and Settings a clearer order.
  • Getting started opens What CleanJibe does in one tap.

iPhone · build 111 beta

26 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Falls counted where they happened.

  • A fall inside a bear-away or round-up now counts as a straight-line fall.
  • A touchdown is only a touchdown when you slow down right after coming off the foil.
  • A long time off the foil now reads 1 min+.
  • The session list folds by month, year or spot, and each spot’s name shows once.
  • The map offers Map or Satellite, and the track reads clearly on both.
  • VoiceOver reads every number with its word, and large text no longer breaks the list.
  • Settings, About, Licences lists the open-source parts we build on.
  • Swipe left on a session to give it to another rider.

iPhone · build 109 beta

26 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Your feedback, built in.

  • The turn page scrolls to the bottom again, and dragging the speed chart moves through the session.
  • Clean jibes have their own tile with the star, and clean jibes per hour comes first.
  • Takeoffs and flight endings now share one Flights tab.
  • A lost connection no longer pops up. We try again quietly and say so under the list.
  • Wind from now sticks, and a saved intervals.icu key says so in Settings.
  • Help and Settings open on shortcuts, and you choose how much we explain.
  • What CleanJibe does now shows the whole family, and the beta has its own page.
  • Tell us what you want most: the feedback mail now has a list to tick.

iPhone · build 107 beta

23 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Read on the beach.

  • Every sentence in the app was read again, the way a wingfoiler on the beach would say it.
  • The CleanJibe family: one page on the three apps and how a session travels between them.
  • Your WingFoil session, measured. The tagline is on the start screen.
  • The same pages as the browser app, in the same order.
  • Please tell us about any sentence that still sounds like a manual.

iPhone · build 105 beta

22 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Four small things.

  • The card’s falls tile says all of it, on every card size.
  • A session sent to the developer is stripped of your watch’s serial number and profile.
  • Average speed on the web is back to the number it always showed.
  • The analysis mail’s subject uses the same dot the app does.

iPhone · build 103 beta

22 September 2026 · 1.0.1

A fall is the turn’s fall.

  • A jibe you never got going again after is a fall, not a touchdown.
  • Falls and jibes per hour change when a session is analysed again, and no fall is lost between them.
  • Settings → Speed records: choose whether records from tracks without measured speed count. Default: verified first.
  • Send a session to the developer from its Share page, with your notes.
  • Engine 0.24.0 works your library out again, once.
  • Please compare a session’s falls with your own memory of the afternoon.

iPhone · build 101 beta

22 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Tacks on the card.

  • Tacks have their own cell on the session page and on the share card, beside the jibes.
  • The map behind a track in the sessions list is always the dark one.
  • The feedback mail names the channel: release, beta or dev.
  • Help: what to do when a watch update does not arrive.
  • Best hour opens its window on the map and chart, like the other eight records.
  • Please open a session you tacked on and check the new cell against your afternoon.

Garmin watch app · 0.9.19

22 September 2026

The wrist reads the fall like the phone.

  • A jibe you never got going again after is a fall on the wrist too.
  • The buzz comes as soon as the stop is long enough to be a fall.
  • The tack and jibe rows equal the phone’s on the same session.
  • Every word the watch prints now comes from the same place the phone and the site read.

Garmin watch app · 0.9.18

22 September 2026

Pages read on the round glass.

  • Every page read against the round glass: the widest line in the middle, numbers larger, words smaller.
  • Turns is one row: clean, flew through, touchdown, fell in. Tacks and jibes get a row each.
  • Seven switches in the Connect IQ settings hide the pages you never read.
  • The pages after a save are the live pages.
  • Every turn is counted again when the wind axis locks, so the tack and jibe rows always add up.

Garmin watch app · 0.9.17

21 September 2026

Tacks and jibes apart, dunks read right.

  • A Tacks and jibes page after Turns. Each count, with how many of them flew through.
  • It is in the large-text set too, one screen each.
  • The page names the wind axis it counts against.
  • A watch that re-anchors after a swim no longer reads the rest of the session as falls.

iPhone · build 99 beta

21 September 2026 · 1.0.1

The whole distance.

  • Sessions recorded with Garmin’s own activity now show the full distance, as Garmin Connect does.
  • The watch’s Smart Recording saves a point every few seconds. Those pauses were read as holes.
  • Foil share, flights and swims change on these sessions too. A fifth of the time had been missing.
  • Riding exactly back and forth no longer hides the wind. Tacks and jibes are told apart again.
  • Pump strokes from the fenix 5 Plus family are read now.
  • Engine 0.23.0 re-derives your library once.
  • Please open a session recorded with Garmin’s own activity and compare the distance with Garmin Connect.

iPhone · build 97 beta

21 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Falls read the dunk.

  • Falls are read from the dunk, not from the day’s average height.
  • A watch that re-anchors its altitude after a swim no longer turns your afternoon into falls.
  • Wrist-under marks on the map show the dunks and not the weather.
  • Every speed follows the Units setting now: the charts, the records table, the turn stories and the widgets.
  • Knots or km/h, once, everywhere.
  • Engine 0.22.0 re-derives your library once.
  • Please open your sessions from the fenix 5 family and tell us whether the falls now match your day.

iPhone · build 95 beta

21 September 2026 · 1.0.1

One word per number.

  • Every number has one word now. Speed kept, got up and flew through are three different things.
  • Fell in counts every fall, in a turn or on a straight line. The card says which.
  • Settings has units: knots or km/h, on every speed and on the card.
  • A turn that ends in the water counts as a turn that fell in. Engine 0.21.0 re-derives your library once.
  • Every Settings footer is one line with a help row.
  • A hostile file can no longer take the app down.
  • Please open your oldest session after the update and tell us if a number surprises you.

iPhone · build 93 beta

20 September 2026 · 1.0.1

Eleven traps on the wrist.

  • The watch app closes eleven traps of its own, and counts a run that never reached its end.
  • The feedback mail prints the watch’s count beside the phone’s crashes.
  • Version 1.0.1 across every channel now. TestFlight ranks by version first.
  • Pair with watch app 0.9.15 from the store.

iPhone · build 91 beta

20 September 2026 · 0.15.0

The last trap.

  • The file reader’s library is ours now. A value past its type no longer takes the app down.
  • Please sync your intervals.icu once more on this build.

iPhone · build 89 beta

19 September 2026 · 0.15.0

A year in one sync.

  • A year of another rider’s recordings syncs without a crash. Six traps in the file reader are closed.
  • A file cut off mid-download, or a broken clock, is refused with its name instead of taking the app down.
  • The sync shows which file it is on, and many failures become one message.
  • Please sync your intervals.icu again and tell us if anything still falls over.

iPhone · build 81 beta

19 September 2026 · 0.15.0

SUP by default.

  • Stand-up paddling is a Strava sport by default now. Sail is the one switch left.
  • Please check Import → Strava if your sessions are filed under SUP.

iPhone · build 79 beta

19 September 2026 · 0.15.0

Names, help and three more trend lines.

  • Every screen is named by what it does. Details, Turn 3 of 12, Import from Strava.
  • Trends draw jibes per hour, turns per hour and the best 2 seconds.
  • A best 2 s without the watch’s own speed draws as an open ring. The caption names the session.
  • Help answers a Garmin rider: why Windsurf, where Garmin Connect shows the jibes, why Runs stays empty.
  • Help says why the watch shows km/h while the app shows knots.
  • Please check the Trends tab and the new screen names.

iPhone · build 77 beta

19 September 2026 · 0.15.0

Swipe, words, and a map that fits.

  • Swipe left for the next session, right for the previous one. The page slides.
  • Each number in the list carries its word. Pick the three in Settings → Session list.
  • The map behind a track sits under the track now.
  • Speed records from Strava or GPX: a best 2 s far above the best 10 s is not accepted.
  • Without the watch’s own speed, a fall can read as a touchdown. The Strava pages say so.
  • Crashes iOS collected ride along in the feedback mail. Delete the lines you would rather keep.
  • Every sentence is short now. Tell us where one still runs long.
  • Coming in a future release names the planned Apple Watch live view.
  • Please check the swipe, the list words and Settings → Session list.

iPhone · build 75 beta

19 September 2026 · 0.15.0

Every door, one order.

  • Import lists its doors in one order, the Garmin export last.
  • Every door stays visible. A door that is off says why.
  • Both Apple Health switches are always in Settings.
  • The menu sits on all four tabs.
  • The session page names where the recording came from.
  • Tap the title to rename a session.
  • Swipe left or right for the next or previous session.
  • Settings → Session list can put a map behind each track.
  • Help and Settings carry What’s new.
  • A Strava recording can read a fall as a touchdown. The setup pages say so.
  • Every paragraph is short now. Tell us where the old style still shows.
  • Please check Import, Settings → Apple Health and the swipe between sessions.

iPhone · build 73 beta

15 September 2026 · 0.15.0

Jan’s morning round.

  • The empty Sessions page shows the ways in, one row each.
  • intervals.icu, the Apple Watch app, Strava, a file.
  • The 4 intervals.icu steps live in Settings only.
  • Help → Share from your watch app names the brands plainly, Garmin first.
  • Getting started lists the Apple Watch routes right after Garmin.
  • Routes have no letters now.
  • Each route says which class you get.
  • cleanjibe.org follows: routes without letters, and a class table with a Route column.
  • Apple Watch appears once on Which watch.
  • Show the steps sits on every route card.
  • Please check the empty Sessions page after Start over.
  • Please check Help → Share from your watch app, and Menu → Getting started.

iPhone · build 53 beta

14 September 2026 · 0.15.0

The beta channel, with its own icon.

  • The first build of the beta channel.
  • It is the app that goes to the App Store, plus the doors still proving themselves.
  • GPX and TCX files, the Garmin export ZIP, Apple Health, the video export, grouping and filters, the Apple Watch app.
  • Settings → Beta lists them and has a Request a feature line.
  • The icon and the start screen wear a red BETA label.
  • This build and the App Store one are told apart at a glance.
  • The app follows your phone’s text size everywhere, up to the largest accessibility sizes.
  • The dense tables stop growing where they would break.
  • Feedback from every page, with a footer on each.
  • Menu → Support & ideas opens the same mail.
  • The mail starts with three blanks for you and the facts below.
  • Settings → Beta → Send usage report mails counters kept on your phone.
  • Nothing leaves unless you send it.
  • Sessions group by month, year or spot and filter by source.
  • Strava shows the official Connect with Strava button.
  • An imported session links back with View on Strava.
  • The three recording classes are named before you import, and in Help.
  • Worth checking: the BETA icon on your home screen, and Settings → Display → Text Size at its largest.
  • Nothing should be cut off.

iPhone · build 51

14 September 2026 · 0.15.0

The card from the watch.

  • A session that arrived as a summary card from the watch opens as what it is.
  • You get the card’s numbers, and how the full recording follows.
  • It no longer says the file is damaged.
  • The Sessions list’s first grouping reads All instead of None.
  • The start screen shows cleanjibe.org under the name.

Garmin watch app · 0.9.10

13 September 2026

Nine more watches, and the shore.

  • Nine more watches.
  • Venu 2, 2S, 2 Plus, 3 and 3S, vívoactive 5 and 6, Instinct 3 AMOLED 45 and 50 mm.
  • That was 39 products in all when 0.9.10 shipped.
  • They pass the layout checks in the simulator.
  • They have not been ridden on a real watch.
  • If you have one, tell us how the pages look and whether the touch controls behave.
  • The live map page and the post-save Track page can draw the shore of your spot.
  • The shore is drawn under the trail.
  • The CleanJibe iPhone app sends it over Bluetooth.
  • Take Settings → Garmin watch → Send map to watch.
  • No firmware map view is involved.
  • The firmware’s own map kills the app on a fenix 8.
  • A splash page with the mark on the first launch after an install or update.
  • A larger mark on the start page.

iPhone · build 49

13 September 2026 · 0.15.0

A crash fix for the watch link.

  • The app no longer crashes when the Garmin sends it something.
  • A summary card, or an answer to a map push.
  • Builds 43 to 47 fell over the moment a message arrived from a watch.
  • That watch was running a CleanJibe beta build.
  • Worth checking: send a map to the watch, and finish a short recording on it.
  • The phone should stay up and the session should appear.

iPhone · build 47

13 September 2026 · 0.15.0

You choose which maps the watch gets.

  • Map for the watch is a page now.
  • The two most-ridden spots by default, or up to two picks among your own spots.
  • Where I am now is one of the picks.
  • Settings → Garmin watch → Map for the watch.
  • The phone reads its own position once per send, only when you picked it.
  • It never reads your position in the background.
  • The tick asks for the permission where you can see it.
  • The automatic send at launch never prompts.

iPhone · build 45

13 September 2026 · 0.15.0

The session list groups and narrows.

  • Group by None, Month, Year or Spot at the top of Sessions, newest group first.
  • A library of twenty or more opens grouped by month until you say otherwise.
  • A filter beside Import: one spot, one source, a date window.
  • The sources are intervals.icu, Strava, Apple Health, the Garmin watch and a file.
  • What is active shows as chips you can tap away.
  • The count line reads 3 of 41 sessions.
  • Records and Trends keep reading the whole library on purpose.
  • The menu at the top left of Sessions, in the order a new rider needs it.
  • Getting started, Settings, Support, then What CleanJibe does and What the numbers mean.
  • The build number sits at the foot of that menu.
  • The welcome screen has a close button now.
  • Something off? Send feedback sits at the foot of every page.
  • On a session page the mail names the session by itself.
  • Connect Strava from Settings → Strava as well as from Import.
  • The full-screen map’s legend no longer floats to the middle of the screen.
  • It used to float after a keyboard was used somewhere else.

iPhone · build 43

13 September 2026 · 0.15.0

Two fixes from build 41.

  • Send map to watch now finds whichever CleanJibe build you have on the watch.
  • Release, public beta or dev, instead of assuming the release one.
  • Failure_AppNotFound is gone.
  • The turn page scrolls from anywhere again.
  • A vertical finger on a strip scrolls the page, a sideways one scrubs the playhead.
  • A tap places the playhead.
  • The small window words no longer overprint each other.

iPhone · build 41

13 September 2026 · 0.15.0

The session video, and a wider way in.

  • Export video: a session becomes a short film.
  • The map draws itself along your track, and the numbers land.
  • It shares like any other clip.
  • Open a session → share → Export video.
  • Send map to watch: the phone draws the shore of your spot.
  • It pushes the shore to a Garmin running CleanJibe 0.9.10.
  • The live map then has ground under the breadcrumb.
  • Take Settings → Garmin watch.
  • Imports take GPX and TCX as well as FIT.
  • A Polar, Suunto or COROS session comes in through intervals.icu.
  • It also comes straight from the vendor’s app through the share sheet.
  • Without a speed channel the speed records are estimated, and marked so.
  • Import from Strava: connect your account under Import and pick the sessions.
  • Positions only, so speed records are estimated.
  • One connected rider at the time this build shipped.
  • [Since 14 September: Strava lets a new app connect a limited number of riders.]
  • Analysis engine 0.18.0: the pump rung now asks the minimum foil speed.
  • Every touchdown and fall says why it ended that way on the turn page.

Garmin watch app · 0.9.9

9 September 2026

A clean jibe needs ten quiet seconds.

  • No touchdown, no swim and no dunked wrist in the ten seconds after the sweep.
  • The star, the clean count and CPH on the wrist now mean what the phone means.
  • cleanjibe.org means the same by them.
  • The clean-jibe buzz therefore arrives up to ten seconds after the turn.
  • The flew through, touched down and fell in verdicts are unchanged.
  • They still buzz at once.

Older watch-app versions are in the Connect IQ listing’s own What’s New. The whole history of both apps, commit by commit, is in the public repository.
